#23 S. Fla. (6-2) at Cinci (5-2) 6:30 p.m. ESPN S. Fla. by 3.5
Cinci QB Pike (who had replaced Mauck) has been downgraded to "doubtful" to play, so Frosh 3rd teamer Anderson likely will start after struggling in 2nd half relief of Pike last week. However, he performed well in his two prior starts that resulted in wins last month. USF RB Ford has been battling a nagging ankle injury all season culminating in a school low rushing output in last week's loss. Star QB Matt Grothe nearly pulled out the win passing for 344 yds & 2 TDs, but 2 Int's clouded his performance. Two of the better defenses in the Big East must keep this low scoring to protect their offenses that have struggled recently. Cinci's injuries at QB will be too much to overcome against the stout USF defense. USF wins, 31 - 21.
Saturday, November 1st
Northwestern (6-2) at #17 Minnesota (7-1) 11:00 a.m. ESPN2 Minn. by 6
NW lost star RB Sutton, but biggest loss will be QB Bacher who is listed as "doubtful" if he will play. Minn. QB Weber passed for 341 yds 5 TDs and 2 Int's v. NW last season. Last week, he passed for 212 yds and a TD and ran for 60 yds and a TD in the win over Purdue. Impressive Minn. defense leads the nation in creating turnovers and will be too much for injury riddled NW offense to overcome on the road. Minn. wins 28-17.
W.Virginia (5-2) at #25 Conn. (6-2) 11:00 a.m. B.E.N./ESPN-GP WV by 3
Both teams have outstanding rushing attacks and are solid on defense, but the difference is WV star QB White who knocked off Auburn last week and has BCS bowl wins over Georgia and Oklahoma. White is far more efficient passing than Conn., who's QB Frazier is listed as "questionable" to play. WV wins 24-21.
Wisconsin (4-4) at #21 Michigan St. (7-2) 11:00 a.m. ESPN MSU by 6
Both teams have solid rushing attacks, but MSU has a star in Ringer, who leads the nation with 1,373 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns. He ran 10 times for 145 yards against the Badgers last season. MSU also has a better passing attack, with QB Hoyer having a huge game in last week's win over arch-rival Michigan. MSU is the hotter team. MSU wins 28-21.
#8 Florida (6-1) vs. #6 Georgia (7-1) 2:30 p.m. CBS Fla. by 5.5
"The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" has major implications this Saturday when Georgia and Florida meet at a neutral site in Jacksonville. The winner will more than likely earn a trip to the SEC Championship and possibly get a shot at the BCS Championship. Florida's overall team speed has helped the team own the best scoring offense (42 PPG) and defense (11.8 PPG) in the SEC. The Gators QB Tim Tebow (17 total TDs) hasn't had to carry the load this year, getting help from playmakers like Percy Harvin (26 catches, 6 TDs) and RB Jeffrey Demps (357 yards, 4 TDs). Georgia isn't short on talent offensively either, boasting a dangerous trio of QB Matthew Stafford (1,946 yards, 12 TDs), RB Knowshon Moreno (926 yards, 12 TDs) and WR A.J. Green (662 yards, 5 TDs). In a game that could be tight the all important turnover battle gives the edge to Florida, who is ranked first in the SEC and third nationally with a turnover margin of plus-10. Each team has recently hung over 50 pts on defending Champ LSU. Florida has a slight edge on defense and a big edge on special teams and revenge for last year's loss when Georgia did a taunting end zone dance. Gators win 31-28
#15 Florida St. (6-1) at Georgia Tech (6-2) 2:30 p.m. ABC/ESPN-GP Pick'em
Both teams have solid rushing attacks and defenses. Georgia Tech has excelled in its new option offense that has given defenses fits, but struggled last week. The talented, but undisciplined FSU defense must play smart. GT wins 24-21
Nebraska (5-3) at #4 Oklahoma (7-1) 7:00 p.m. ESPN OU by 21.5
Traditional rivalry has lost some of its luster with the Huskers rebuilding. Both head coaches have ties going all the way back to high school in Youngstown, OH, and Pelini was the Co-defensive coordinator for Stoops in 2004. The Huskers have already equaled their win total from last season. The Sooners are coming off a win over Kansas State that saw them score 55 points in the first half, but the quick scoring led to a bizarre 17 possessions for the K-State offense that racked up over 500 yds in total offense against a strained Sooner defense. OU has the home field advantage and a big edge in talent. OU wins 49-24.
#1 Texas (8-0) at #7 Texas Tech (8-0) 7:00 p.m. ABC Texas by 5
Texas travels to the hostile confines of Lubbock for another tough test against Texas Tech. The Longhorns go as QB Colt McCoy (2,697 total yards, 28 TDs) goes and he's been on fire this year. The dual threat gun slinger can beat you with his legs or toss it to a pair of underrated receivers in Shipley (737 yards, 10 TDs) and Cosby (56 catches, 688 yards). Texas Tech's offense is averaging 48 PPG and 556 YPG of total offense behind QB Graham Harrell (3, 147 yards, 28 TDs) and WR Michael Crabtree (60 catches, 794 yards, 14 TDs). Most would expect the ball to be in the air often in this matchup considering Texas (69 YPG) and Texas Tech (101 YPG) have both been run stuffers. The Longhorns' defense has also been able to pressure the quarterback this season, notching 29 sacks through eight games, which is ranked second nationally. Texas has played 3 emotionally charged games in a row v. Top 10 opponents and has to be wearing down and won't have enough left to overcome this hostile environment on the road in primetime…… Red Raiders win 38-35.

#4 Oklahoma (6-1) at Kansas State (4-3) 11:30 a.m. FSN (HD) OU by 18
After passing for a school-record 468 yards last week, Bradford faces a Wildcats defense that's ranked 93rd in pass defense, which bodes well for his Heisman campaign.
#7 Georgia (6-1) at #13 LSU (5-1) 2:30 p.m. CBS (HD) LSU by 1.5
Georgia and LSU came into the season facing big expectations, with the Bulldogs starting out at No. 1 for the first time in school history and the Tigers hoping to defend their national championship.
With each team having endured a blowout loss, another setback would almost certainly derail either's hopes of getting back to the top. Georgia has the better offense and LSU has been struggling on defense. LSU has won six consecutive games against top 10 opponents.
Michigan State (6-2) at Michigan (2-5) 2:30 p.m. (ESPN2/ABC) MSU by 4.5

Virginia (4-3) at #18 Georgia Tech (6-1) 2:30 p.m. ESPNU (HD) GT by 11

Both teams lead their respective divisions in this ACC showdown. Florida State will be looking for some revenge when Virginia Tech comes calling Saturday. Last season the Hokies blew out the Seminoles, ending Bobby Bowden's 15-0 run against Virginia Tech.
#2 Alabama (7-0) at Tennessee (3-4) 6:45 p.m. ESPN (HD) Bama by 5
Intense rivalry has a contrast between the two coaches with Vols Coach Fulmer on the hot seat, while Coach Saban has turned the Tide around with an impressive win over the Vols last season and contending for the national championship this season. Bama looks to reverse its recent trend of poor second halves and has not won consecutive games over the Vols since 1991-92. Despite the heat, Vols Coach Fulmer is 10-4-1 v. Bama.
#3 Penn State (8-0) at #9 Ohio State (7-1) 7:00 p.m. ABC (HD) PSU by 1
This will likely decide the Big Ten title as the Nittany Lions look to snap a 10-game road losing streak against ranked opponents and beat OSU in Columbus for the first time since 1978. The Buckeyes have won 12 of their last 13 conference home games against ranked opponents. Joe Pa is in the hunt for his 6th unbeaten season.
#5 USC (5-1) at Arizona (5-2) 9:15 p.m. FSN (HD) USC by 16
Battle for first place in the Pac-10 at Arizona Stadium that has been a tough place for opponents with the Wildcats winning 4 of their last 5 against Top 25 opponents, the only blemish in that stretch a 20-3 loss to No. 3 USC on Sept. 23, 2006. In last season's 20-13 victory, the Trojans trailed in the fourth quarter before scoring the game's final 10 points in the last 10 minutes.
